एक जापानी कंपनी और Kyoto University ने दावा किया है कि वह 2023 तक लकड़ी से बने दुनिया के पहले उपग्रह को Launch करने में सक्षम हो जाएँगे ।
Sumitomo Forestry का कहना है कि उसने अन्तरिक्ष में पौधों की संख्या में वृद्धि और अंतरिक्ष में लकड़ी की सामग्री के उपयोग पर शोध शुरू कर दिया है ।उनको उम्मीद है कि शीघ्र ही वह अपनी योजना में सफल हो जाएँगे ।
